Hatherleigh Pinot Noir
2006
Overall this was a warm season with a very warm February and March, the latter very dry. The grapes were picked on 17th and 23rd April. A small amount of wine that didn’t meet the cut was released under the Laggan label.
2010 tasting note. The wine has more weight and body than other vintages and has softened well. Light to mid garnet colour. Ripe red plums with hints of cigar box and spicy, earthy characters that have developed with bottle-age. The palate is full-bodied for Pinot noir, with plenty of soft tannins. It is now fully mature, but will hold in bottle past 2015. 13.5% alc
96 points Halliday
Tasted 15th February 2023, the wine is still full bodied, richly flavoured and soft. In 2021 it was still being ordered by Café Sydney. No hurry to drink this.

Hatherleigh Pinot noir 2015
This is one of the top three Pinots we have made. My original notes, in 2020, read, “Together with 2013, this is the best Hatherleigh since the 2005, with Hatherleigh’s depth of red fruits and characteristic tannin structure. It has been building in bottle to 2020 and has at least another five years development of ahead. The ’05 is still drinking beautifully, by the way.”
