Nick is primarily an independent consultant. He has given assistance and advice with winemaking, blending and quality assessment to producers in several states.
Nick is often engaged as expert witness in disputes and legal cases involving wine quality and technical or marketing issues. Previous cases have included alleged neglect by contract winemakers or vineyard managers, wine spoilage, cork taint and other closure issues, damaged wine shipments and disputes between producer and distributor.
He manages his Hatherleigh Vineyard hands-on.

Was inducted as a Fellow of the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology for services to the wine industry and the Society.
Has conducted masterclasses on Australian, French and Italian wines in Australia, China and Hong Kong.
Visited Yunnan province, China in October 2017 to inspect vineyards. Did a presentation to the hosting company on my observations.
Invited in July 2016 as international expert to advise on grading vineyards and wineries in Ningxia, China, and wrote report.
