Welcome to Hatherleigh

At 910 metres altitude, Hatherleigh is one of Australia’s highest vineyards. It is also regularly one of the latest to ripen. The cool climate, often with snow in winter, is perfect for fine Chardonnay and Pinot noir. Many of the wines have won silver and gold medals or ratings from wine writers.

I make the wines with the team at Brokenwood, where I have been a partner for many years.

Hatherleigh Pinot Noir is the ‘top’ wine when everything goes well, each year, each barrel.
Laggan Pinot Noir is when a vintage or sometimes just a few barrels don’t quite make the A grade.
Hatherleigh Chardonnay made its appearance with the 2019 vintage, which immediately received a 5* rating from Huon Hooke.
